Argentina Travel Tips What To Know Before You Go
Excuse the rhyme, but it is best to know before you go!! Of all of the
Argentina travel tips
to consider, one of the first challenges is the language barrier. Spanish is the national language of Argentina but it is not the typical Spanish of Hispanic and Latin American cultures that those of us in the United States are familiar with. The Spanish language of Argentina is Castilian, from Spain, with a pronunciation more like that of the Italian language. That was one of the first things I noticed upon my arrival into Buenos Aires. Having been to Italy and of Italian descent myself, everyone looked and sounded as if they were Italian! Argentina Travel Tip: Although many Argentinians speak English, don't expect it to be spoken everywhere you visit. It's best to know some basic phrases in Spanish!

Another Argentina travel tip to consider is the time of year of your visit. Because Argentina is in the southern hemisphere the seasons are the exact opposite of those in the northern hemisphere. Summer runs from mid-December to mid-March, while winter covers June, July and August. The weather of Argentina varies as the country is so vast. The north is hot with high humidity in the summer with a temperature range from the 70's to 90's F, and 40's to 60's F in winter. The south is often rainy and cooler with a temperature range of 50's to 60's F in the summer and below freezing in the winter months. I visited Ushuaia in January (summer) and had to wear a sweater and jacket! Argentina Travel Tip: Pack clothes that will keep you warm and dry!!
