Argentina Travel Packages
Your Journey Begins

With so many Argentina travel packages available today, where do we begin? My journey began on a frigid January day in New England with a flight from Boston to Chicago to Miami and after flying all night, arriving in Buenos Aires mid-morning. And what an arrival! After a long grueling line at customs, I remember walking outside to board the bus that took my husband and I to our hotel and I just couldn't get over the smell! It was summer and it brought back every wonderful memory I ever had of fresh-cut grass, newly green leaves on the trees, blue skies and abundant sunshine. You mean you don't know what sunshine smells like? Well that day it smelled like Buenos Aires!

Most Argentina travel packages either begin or end in the capital city of Buenos Aires . Spanish for Fair Winds, Buenos Aires is the chief port along the Rio de la Plata and the largest city in Argentina. There is so much to do and see in the "Paris of South America" that you may have to plan another vacation just to see the rest of Argentina!

With Buenos Aires as your port of entry, there are diverse and unique Argentina travel packages at your disposal. From luxury tours to cruises to backpacking,  bicycling,  hiking and trekking, ranch vacations and glacier climbing,  there are Argentina travel packages for you!   You can easily book your own online  air,  hotel,  car rental  and cruise itineraries . You can also use the services of a travel agent . Once you have planned your departure, consider some of the following Argentina travel packages.

Argentina - Order FREE Travel Brochure!

Hiking and Trekking -- The Andes Mountain range runs through the western portion of Argentina from the northern region of Salta to the southernmost city of Ushuaia .  It creates a natural border between Argentina and Chile and provides endless possibilities for hikers.   Patagonia is the most popular hiking region. Here you will find Aconcagua , also known as The Stone Sentinel, the highest mountain in the South American Andes chain.  The glaciers of El Calafate and the mountains of Los Torres and Fitz Roy in El Chalten are other renowned hiking destinations.

Golf Vacations -- The game of golf was brought to Buenos Aires from Scotland by a golfer named Henry Smith in 1879.  The first genuine golf club was known as the Golf Club Argentino and was created in 1905. Since then many golf clubs have been established. Argentina has more golf courses than any other South American country.  The golf courses are often very scenic with a backdrop of mountains or lakes, and make for a splendid golf holiday .

Estancias -- Feel like herding cattle or working in a corral?  Then a ranch vacation , or estancia, is for you. Live like the Gauchos on the ranches and immerse yourself in a time that was.

Bicycling -- Feeling energetic?  Argentina travel packages also come with a bicycle ride in the Andes ! For those who would like more of a flat surface to ride on (like me!), you can take bicycle tours of Buenos Aires or rent bicycles and find your own routes around the city.

Fishing and Hunting -- With its vast expanse of uninhabited land, miles of coastline and numerous rivers and lakes, it's no surprise that Argentina is one of the premiere hunting and fishing destinations in the world. Argentina travel packages with guided tours and equipment are available for big game hunting and wingshooting , flyfishing , and boat charters .

Skiing and Snowboarding -- Because Argentina is below the equator, winter runs from July to October. Perfect for those of us who would like to jump into winter sports during summer vacation !   Snowboarding has really caught on in Argentina over the last few years.  The most popular ski resorts are located in the Western regions of Argentina, close to the Andes Mountains.   Escorted and customized skiing and snowboarding Argentina travel packages are available and worth looking into.

Waterfalls -- Bordering Paraguay and Brazil in the Misiones region of Argentina is Iguazu Falls.  The Guarani Indian word for big water, Iguazu has over 275 cascading horseshoe waterfalls covering more than a two mile expanse of the Iguazu River.  At 210 feet it is taller than Niagara Falls and twice as wide.  This powerful waterfall is the result of a volcanic eruption which left a fault line beneath the Iguazu River.  You can tour the falls by boat , jungle safari or hiking trails and combine them with overnight packages .

Scenic Train Rides -- An expedition to Salta would not be complete without taking the Train To The Clouds along the majestic eastern Andes. Winding and zigzagging through tunnels, bridges and viaducts, you will be traveling over 13,000 feet above sea level.  In Ushuaia you can ride the Train at the End of the World , the southernmost railway on earth.  The steam locomotive was formerly used to transport prisoners to their work details.  It travels through the scenic landscape of Tierra del Fuego composed of mountains, valleys, winding rivers, waterfalls and forest.

Private Air Charters -- For those travelers who want truly unique Argentina travel packages, why not design your own?  Build your itinerary using a private flight service that transports you to your most enticing Argentina locales. See the country from the sky while sitting in the lap of luxury!
